- SWiP, along with the Society of Physics Students (SPS), the Society of Women in Math (SWiM), and Phoenix Biology, are super excited to announce the STEM Soirée, a formal for students from all STEM majors (and all other students, regardless of major)! Join us for dinner, music, and dance this Saturday, March 30 from 6-9pm in the Ida Noyes Library/Lounge. Entry (including food) is via a $3 donation to SWiP, and the suggested dress code is semi-formal (but of course dress as you feel comfortable).
- Link to Facebook event with more info.
- Pizza with Professors: Thursday April 25th, 5-7pm in Ida Noyes Library and Lounge
- Come meet and chat with your current and future professors. This is an annual event put on by SWiP and is a great way to get to know your professors (and for them to get to know you!) and what research they're up to at the College.
- RSVP as a student with this form detailing your physics interests and any dietary restrictions.
- Book Club Meetings - first meeting is Sunday April 21st @ 1pm!
- We are launching the first SWiP book club! The current plan is to meet 3 times a quarter on Sundays starting April 21st.
- We’re going to be reading The Smallest Lights in the Universe by Sara Seager. Seager is a professor of physics and planetary science at MIT, and her memoir is about dealing with love, loss, and exoplanets.
- We’re also planning to be able to buy a copy of the book for everyone who participates!
- Sciencepalooza - STEM RSO Fair (Date TBD)
- Grad School Panel - More info to come
