It can be intimidating to identify a research mentor/group you want to work with/in! So we sent out a brief faculty survey to departments in the physical sciences and compiled a partial list of faculty interested in talking to undergraduates about joining their labs, to be updated biannually.
This spreadsheet lists and describes non-UChicago academic research summer programs and internships both in the US and abroad. Note that most programs have application deadlines in the winter; keep that in mind as you apply!
This spreadsheet lists all scholarship and fundings available to undergraduate students conducting research. It is important to be funded for your work, and we encourage you to discuss funding situations with your PIs. The college also has fundings available that your PIs would likely know about.

UChicago career advancement holds events, provides advising, and regularly sends out information all on opportunities in STEM that involve both academic and industry roles. You can sign up for their listhost to receive their weekly newsletter.
UChicago Wisr is also a good place to ask UChicago alumni about industry/academia and look for internship or job shadowing opportunities!
Handshake is a great website for finding both academic and industry positions. In particular, the Metcalf internships post their academic internships there.
